Italians gush over Pole after final. "Miracle of Saint Luke"

It was the Roman arena that hosted the finalists of the game for the second most important football title on the Apennine Peninsula. Both AC Milan and Bologna had long since lost their chance to win Serie A. All that remained was to play for the national cup, the Coppa Italia. The final clash took place on Wednesday evening, May 14.
Coppa Italia: Łukasz Skorupski wins the title. Pole the hero of the final! After Wojciech Szczęsny ended his national team career, Łukasz Skorupski became the "number one" in the Polish national team, appointed by coach Michał Probierz. "Skorup" is a solid brand, as he has been proving for years on the pitches of Serie A. Additionally, when he was given a chance to play for the national team, he never disappointed.
The latest example? A championship event, specifically Euro 2024, the Poland-France match and ultimately a 1:1 draw, which is largely due to the many interventions of the Polish goalkeeper. It was no coincidence that Skorupski was awarded the MVP award for the match.
On the aforementioned Wednesday evening at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, the Pole charmed his club's goal. Bologna joined the top teams in Italy last season. Now the team is playing for a place in the Champions League (i.e. the top four of Serie A), but thanks to winning the Coppa Italia, they will definitely play in the UEFA Europa League.
Bologna won 1-0 against Milan. Skorupski's clean sheet was not only due to a tight defensive block, but also to the solid work done by the Pole himself. The representative had to show off a few really good interventions, including one great one that required a lot of reflexes. This is something the 34-year-old goalkeeper has never lacked.
"Belly, body, hands, soul and heart: he sacrifices everything against danger. The miracle of Saint Luke" - this was how the Pole's great performance in the final clash was commented in the famous "Corriere dello Sport".
Interestingly, this is the first trophy in the senior career for the Pole. The Coppa Italia won by the club has a special meaning. The competition in Italy is really big, but Bologna regularly proves that they fully deserve a place among the best.
